And before you start looking for a farm to house your new cow and begin thinking about how many barbecues you’ll have in the future, please read on!

The cow in question can be won in a contest organised by Stoke House to win a dinner for 18 people, featuring the restaurant’s best meat: the equivalent of half a cow.

The winner of the contest will be able to share this meaty feast with up to 18 guests, so be ready to gather your friends and/or family to eat some of the best dishes of the restaurant such as lamb belly, beef short ribs, whole beer can chicken and pulled pork.

“I entered the contest,” said Charlotte Posner, 35, a meat enthusiast, “the food looks amazing so I might still go whenever I win or not.”

Stoke House is a new restaurant that opened in early May. Along with the cow contest, the eatery is offering a half price breakfast, lunch, and dinner service until the 14th of May as a way to promote its new restaurant in Victoria.

“The chef cooks the food in front of people, says Louis, the general manager, who declined to provide his surname.“They like the concept of being able to the food being prepared in front of them.

“We have one of the best chefs to cook the meat and we only serve quality pieces.”

The head chef is no less than Pete Denhart, from the Newman Arms in Fitzrovia and winner of the Restaurant of the Year 2016 South as well as the Restaurant of the Year at the first Food Awards London.

The restaurant is the latest creation of Will Ricker, the Australian behind the successful E&O (Eastern and Oriental) in Notting Hill and he’s aiming to be as successful as all his other restaurants.
