Neverland London

We’re almost approaching June and it doesn’t even seem like the sun has any plans or signs of showing up yet. Luckily, you know what they say 'If the mountain will not come to Muhammad, then Muhammad must go to the mountain'.That’s exactly why Neverland London, an urban beach pop-up in Fulham has just opened up.

Running from the 10th May - 3rd October, the Thameside white-sand beach - Palm trees, deck chairs and swings -operates on a Bring Your Own Booze (BYOB) policy. So make sure you buy whatever it is you wish to drink and mixologists will be ready to prepare - and serve - your very own personalized summer cocktails.

But don’t worry dear non-alcoholics, they’ve got you guys as well as you can pay just £4 for mocktails and choose from a range of Pina Coladas, Strawberry Daiquiris and classic mojitos just to name a few.

Cute couples and work mates were all scattered around, with their cans of beers, bottles of wine and the most popular spirit of the night was indeed the good old Smirnoff Vodka.

The hype was such that one of the long feasting tables suddenly fell down, causing nothing but laughter - and let's not forget about embarrassment - amongst the fellow crowd. Luckily people got back up from the incident harmless free.

One of the attenders, was model and food Instagrammer, Daisy Stothert, 18, from Pimlico who said she had entered a competition and to her luck, won the tickets, thanks to her Instagram account Munchie Model which focuses on her food journey as a model.

Asked what she was digging her hands into, she replied: “I had a raclette with potatoes, salad and sausage and it was delicious. It definitely went further than my expectations. It was £8 which I thought was really good for eating out. It was a big portion as it fed two of us and it was really yummy and unique. We’re definitely coming again”.

If street food dining is your thing, up on the menu is the French delicacy, raclette cheese, for all the cheese lovers, from the event catering company Le Rac Shack. If you’ve got a soft spot for Tacos, Taco Dave has for you the traditional Mexican flavours with a modern twist and last but not least, Le Bao, a traditional Taiwanese bao (buns) stuffed with a variety of ingredients.

Free entry is available for walk-ins during May before 7pm on weekdays and 2pm on weekends or pay a fiver on the door.

Organiser and founder of the event, Grace Hutson, 29, from South West London, said that this was the first Neverland of its kind. “I’ve been running events for the last ten years and so far It’s been a really good first night”.

“The idea about it was that we could hopefully bring a bit of what you find in East to South West London. We’ve had really good feedback from all of the residents locally and businesses. Everyone’s really excited about it, I think it's a great opportunity and we’ve had lots of businesses approaching us to collaborate,” she said.

“You can’t really find anything like that around and it’s really for that reason that we started the BYOB concept.”

“You can get street food but not where to go and buy cocktails for this price because they’re always so expensive, so we make it more affordable for everyone”.

A Beach butler is also available for your private group bookings so if you’re thinking of going all in with a beach party theme, beach volley, table tennis and beer pong tables that's also available upon request. Groups can book pastel beach huts, for up to eight people (£40) or day party beds for up to 25 people (£60).

Doors open from 6pm to 11pm Wednesday - Friday and from midday up until 11pm on the Weekends.

My advice...don’t miss out! It’s the perfect place to go for a nice chill with your mates this summer.
